Entry requirements
Students are admitted after obtaining a Licence degree (180 ECTS), preferably after a Licence degree in History.
Benefits of the program
Training for and through research provides students with great thinking skills and a sound grasp of how to organise individual work. As research is organised in the ACP Laboratory, students are guaranteed one-to-one supervision. The overall theme of the Master's programme ensures that it fits in well with one of UGE's areas of excellence.
Acquired skills
Implement tools and methods specific to the field of history and the period of specialisation. Gather original documentation in archives or libraries. Collect necessary information and use tools for processing it effectively. Write, argue, summarise and conceptualise. The essential requirement in M1, as in M2, is the writing of an original dissertation. Design and put together a project. Report on work carried out, particularly orally during presentation sessions.

Your future career
Students may pursue their studies in M2, focusing on research. This training for and through research can also apply to the teaching profession, A-category civil service competitive examinations and careers in culture and heritage.
Professional integration
La formation du M1 Histoire prépare à plusieurs métiers dans la recherche et dans l'enseignement (notamment pour la préparation aux concours de professeurs du second degré pour lequel est prévu un parcours spécifique en M1 et M2, le Master de préparation au Capes en Histoire-Géographie), la fonction publique de catégorie A, ainsi que dans les métiers de la culture et du patrimoine (musées, archives, médiation culturelle, etc.), les métiers de la presse et de l’édition.
Study objectives
La thématique centrale du master privilégie l’histoire urbaine, mais de manière non exclusive. Il couvre également l’histoire économique et sociale, l’histoire politique, l’histoire des circulations et l’histoire connectée, l’histoire du travail, l’histoire culturelle et l’histoire environnementale.
Cette formation, fondée sur la recherche et par la recherche, permet aux étudiants d’acquérir une solide maîtrise de la réflexion historique et des compétences essentielles pour organiser un travail personnel approfondi.

The seminar is designed to provide an introduction to cultural intermediation for students preparing for the Master 2 in Territorial Cultural Development (DCT) or Historical Diagnosis and Urban Planning (DHAU).

UE9 Graduate program Futurs urbains 1
The UE Graduate Program Futurs urbains consists of two mandatory and complementary modules. A module on Discovering the PhD in Urban Studies and a module on Cities in Ecological Transition. The Module on Discovering the PhD is based on encounters between doctoral students and master's students at a seminar presenting the doctorates in progress. The Cities in Transition module is a research seminar outlining the epistemological and methodological issues involved in research on urban futures, from a broadly interdisciplinary (SHS, engineering and environmental sciences) and global perspective.

UE18 Graduate program Futurs urbains 2
L'UE Graduate Program Futurs urbains 2 regroupe deux modules obligatoires et complémentaires. Un module Découverte du doctorat en études urbaines et un module Séminaire de recherche Villes en Transition écologique. Le module 1 est fondé sur la recnontre entre doctorants et masterants lors de séminaire de présentation des doctorats en cours. Le module Villes en Transition est un séminaire de recherche exposant les enjeux épistémologiques et méthodologiques des recherches sur les futurs urbains, dans une perspective d'interdisciplinarité étendue (SHS, sciences de l'ingénieur et de l'environnement) et globale.
