Bachelor's degree Digital Worlds

Entry requirements
Holder of a L2 Licence degree in sociology, full-time initial training - open to lifelong training - open to recognition of prior experience
Benefits of the program
After a multidisciplinary first year (geography, history, sociology) and gradual specialization, the L3 digital worlds program offers general training in sociology and in-depth study of digital technology and the digital world. The program is taught by specialists in sociology and digital humanities.
Acquired skills
Students are encouraged to develop their analytical and critical skills in relation to documents and debates, particularly digital ones. Emphasis is placed on developing their written and oral communication skills and mastery of digital tools. Beyond fundamental sociological knowledge, they experiment with digital technology, its uses and challenges in sociology, geography, and history, with courses in the sociology of digital technology, critical cartography, and the production of digital historical knowledge. Students who complete this program will have mastered a variety of skills and concrete, rigorous methods in their personal work (research workshop on digital technology and data, etc.), as well as expertise in data analysis and communication of syntheses (statistics, internships, etc.).

Study objectives
"The Third-year ""Digital world"" Licence (Bachelor's) degree in Sociology is designed as a year of consolidation in sociology and an initiation to approaches in digital humanities.
It offers a rich range of classes, pursuing several objectives: transmitting general knowledge in sociology; training in digital humanities; and training in digital tools.
The course also offers a diverse range of learning styles, with a significant amount of tutorials and a focus on learning in “project mode”, especially in the 2nd semester. Thus, the workshop is a tool for active learning, where students are required to organise and conduct a group field study within the allotted time of one semester. The work placement, which is optional, is also an opportunity for a professional initiation in a real situation."
