Entry requirements

The Integration and Social and Solidarity Entrepreneurship programme is open to students who have completed four years of higher education, i.e. who have earned 180 credits. Lifelong learning applicants who do not have this level of training may still be admitted through the validation of professional experience process.

 

The selection process takes place in two stages: pre-selection on the basis of application, followed by an admission interview, after which a panel of judges decides whether or not to admit the pre-selected candidates.

Benefits of the program

The course is part of the Social and Solidarity Economy Chair at Université Gustave Eiffel, which fosters multiple partnerships with actors in the field through research and multiple events such as researcher-actor meetings and its Videos of Solidarity-Based Alternatives festival.

 

The course is a work-study programme, open to apprenticeships and lifelong learning.

Acquired skills

The course is designed to build students' skills in the development of organisations for integration through economic activity (integration companies; intermediary associations; temporary professional integration companies; neighbourhood associations, integration workshops) and, more generally, socially beneficial solidarity companies (French SSE law).

These skills include:

1) general skills for understanding the economic, legal and political environment of these organisations,

2) management skills (creating dashboards, financial monitoring, using management indicators, HR management),

3) social development skills (area-specific knowledge of audiences, identifying new markets with a social dimension, implementing public and solidarity funding, supporting people, etc.).

International

The programme is partnered by the Cantemir University in Bucharest (Romania) through Erasmus exchanges for teachers and students.

At the end of this Master’s, graduates can apply for the following jobs:

- Senior executives of integration through economic activity organisations

- Senior executives of socially beneficial solidarity companies

- Integration project managers in organisations for integration through economic activity or local government

- Social and solidarity economy officer in local government or social and solidarity economy networks

Professional integration

The course has been running since 1994 and it graduates are mainly employed in the field of integration through economic activity, in public or private organisations in charge of social and professional integration and, more generally, social and solidarity entrepreneurship.

The course alumni association is also useful for graduates’ employment throughout their career.

Study objectives

The Master’s degree trains students in the development of solidarity companies for the professional integration of socially vulnerable people.

It prepares students for the following positions:

- Project manager in integration through economic activity organisations, local government or public employment organisations.

- Senior executive of integration through economic activity organisations (integration companies)

- Intermediary associations, temporary professional integration companies, neighbourhood development bodies, integration workshops, employer groups for integration and qualification, organisations for the social and professional integration of disabled people (adapted companies, work assistance establishments) and solidarity companies in general.

Major thematics of study

The main topics of study are:

1) social and solidarity economy (SSE theories, integration through economic activity, solidarity marketing, solidarity finance, social practices, social entrepreneurship)

2) project management (financial engineering, integration engineering, project engineering, tutored projects);

3) public policies (urban policy, employment policy, law and HR management).

Calendar

The course consists of 1 week of classes / 2 weeks in a company (with a minimum of 16 weeks in a company).
