Entry requirements
The Master's in Health, Healthcare and Social Welfare and Health Pathways is accessible first and foremost to students with a M1 in the field of health or healthcare and social welfare. It is also accessible as continuing training to professionals in this sector who already have managerial experience and who would like to progress in their practice or towards new responsibilities.
Benefits of the program
The sandwich training enables students to supplement their theory training with practical training and initial experience which helps them to find employment. Throughout their training, students are supported by both university teachers and professionals working in healthcare and social welfare organisations. Teaching methods are based extensively on practical cases and group work.
Acquired skills
The training program aims to develop the skills required for undertaking administrative functions in a healthcare institution or service, or management or leadership roles in a healthcare and social welfare institution or service. These skills cover both management and the legal and regulatory requirements of careers in health and the healthcare and social welfare sector.

Schedule of studies
The training program schedule alternates between one week at the university and two weeks with an institution, between September and June.
Your future career
The Master's degree is primarily professionally-oriented and enables students to move directly into work in management positions or positions of responsibility in health or healthcare and social welfare institutions or services. They may also have jobs involving pathway coordination. Our graduates hold positions as directors of retirement homes for dependent elderly people, HR managers, quality managers, project leaders, coordinators, etc.
Professional integration
95% of former students are in jobs that correspond to their qualification, 18 months after their training (OFIPE statistics; Université Paris Est - Marne-la-Vallée). Study objectives
The Master's in Health, Healthcare and Social Welfare and Health Pathways provides students with an overall understanding of the social, institutional, economic and managerial issues in healthcare services. Students are able to initiate, maintain and expand a policy of ongoing service quality assessment.
Major thematics of study
The degree mainly covers two areas of study: knowledge of the legal and administrative framework of the health and healthcare and social welfare sector and management. Students therefore acquire the knowledge required to exercise responsibility in the sector through the training program. By the end of their training, they know about the key elements of health policies, the changing health needs of populations, the administrative structure governing this sector, governance and finance practices, quality, ethics, etc. As regards management, they acquire skills in all the management disciplines, including HR management, project management, financial management and strategy, as well as law, sociology and information systems.
Study organization
La formation débute la troisième semaine de septembre et se déroule jusqu'en juin en étant rythmée par un calendrier d'alternance d'une semaine de cours et de deux semaines en établissement. Les étudiants en apprentissage sont à plein temps en entreprise entre juillet et septembre. Les étudiants en formation continue doivent valider au minimum 16 semaines de stage dans le domaine de la formation.
Modalité d'admission en FC :
La formation accueille chaque année une dizaine d'étudiants en formation continue. L'admission est ouverte à des candidats ayant déjà une expérience d'encadrement dans le secteur et souhaitant développer leurs connaissances ou accéder à de nouvelles responsabilités.
Pour les étudiants n'ayant pas le niveau M1, la validation des acquis professionnels est pratiquée.
Modalité d'admission en Alternance :
Le Master Santé, Médico-Social et Parcours de santé est accessible en priorité aux titulaires d'un niveau Master 1 dans le domaine de la santé ou du médico-social.

L'admission est ouverte à des candidats ayant déjà une expérience d'encadrement dans le secteur et souhaitant développer leurs connaissances ou accéder à de nouvelles responsabilités. Options
The optional teaching unit enables students to specialise according to their career plans. They can choose between a course on health networks (through gerontology and oncology, for example) and the logistics required for exercising responsibilities in the healthcare sector.
Major thematics of Research
The training program is headed by a lecturer-researcher who is a member of the DICEN-IDF Laboratory. Another lecturer-research associated with the ERUDITE laboratory and the UPEM SSE chair is responsible for grading. Several courses include research studies and students receive a course dedicated to health research and innovation and more specifically to user-centred research. They are also invited to develop a research process as part of their dissertation.
