Options
The Master's degree includes common core courses. At the start of the year, students can choose a project assessment pathway on the UPEM campus or a project management and sustainable development pathway on the UPEC campus. Although the Master's is a professionally-oriented degree, there is also the opportunity to follow a research pathway.
International
Students can obtain a joint degree thanks to agreements with certain foreign universities. For example, in 2010 a joint Franco-German Master's degree was established for students who have taken the Master 1 International Business in Developing and Emerging Makets (IBDEM) in English at the University of Freiberg (Saxony, Germany).
These joint degrees form the Master 1 "external" pathway. Students who take one of these joint degrees must take the M2 in international economics at the Université Paris Est.
The Master's degree also benefits from agreements with around twenty universities in Europe and the rest of the world. It is referenced by Campus France.
Major thematics of Research
The Master's in International Economics is associated with the "Research Team on the Use of Individual Data in connection with Economic Theory" ERUDITE Laboratory (EA 437), common to the UPEC and the UPEM as well as the French Institute of Management Research (IRG). The lecturer-researchers who participate in the Master's degree conduct their research in the field of economics or international management within these two laboratories.
