CULTURES AND PROFESSIONS OF THE WEB
Entry requirements
The Master's in Web Careers and Cultures is primarily aimed at students with non-scientific general Bachelor's degrees. There are no pre-requisites in computing.
Candidates must demonstrate the following qualities: very good knowledge of culture in general; an affinity for new technology in the digital and web industry; fluency in writing; a good level of English; method and rigour; a flair for teamwork.

Acquired skills
Ability to understand and analyse the cultural, social, historical and economic issues of the development of the Web and the interactions between digital technology and society. Ability to use web languages to design, develop and publish a website online. Ability to use all the tools involved in creating websites and multimedia interactive experiences. Ability to manage a web project, mastering all of its implementation stages and methods.

Study objectives
At the end of this degree course, graduates of the "Master's in Web Careers and Cultures" pathway are able to understand and resolve the economic, legal, editorial and technical problems posed by the design and creation of multimedia productions in the field of digital and interactive media as well as in the web domain.
In design, they are able to manage a web project, mastering all of the stages.
In production, they can work on a project to resolve the various problems connected with its implementation.
Their theoretical training also enables them
- to understand the cultural, social and economic issues involved in the development of digital technology.
- to develop a critical view of the field in which they are working.

Study organization
Le premier semestre du M1 vise à consolider un socle commun de connaissances, tant en sciences humaines que dans le domaine du codage, des études visuelles ou du design graphique.
Le second semestre est largement consacré à l’élaboration du mémoire de recherche.
L’année de M2, quant à elle, est couronnée par la réalisation de deux projets tutorés auxquels concourent l’ensemble des connaissances acquises au long des deux années de master. Ces projets font l’objet d’une soutenance devant un jury composé d’universitaires et de professionnels.

L’entrée en M1 s’effectue au terme d’une procédure de sélection en deux temps :

Options
Two options are offered in M2, in the form of an "in-depth study": one as a Web Project and the other as an Interactive Documentary Project.
International
The training program is open to students of all nationalities.
Furthermore, the Master's in Web Careers and Cultures has, over several years, formed a close partnership with the Film & Visual Media Technology Department at Dong-Eui University in Busan (South Korea).
This partnership provides the opportunity
- for all M2 students to make a Franco-Korean interactive documentary and participate in a three-week study visit to South Korea.
- for those who wish to do so to complete a joint Franco-Korean degree by doing one of the two years of the degree course at Dong-Eui University in South Korea.
Major thematics of Research
The association with research is at the heart of the Master's in Web Careers and Cultures, a training program which addresses digital technology from the perspective of social and human sciences.
It is reflected in
- the teaching staff, which includes members of laboratories with focus areas related to the Web or digital technology (LATTS, LISIS, IGM at the UPEM; Laboratoire SENSE, France Telecom Orange Labs) or to the field of visual studies (ACP-UPEM)
- the space allocated to research-based training in Year 1.
- the setting up of tutor-supervised projects in Year 2 which contribute to technology transfer and are conducted in close collaboration with lecturer-researcher teams
