BAC S / BAC STI
Benefits of the program
"Our students continue almost all their studies.
The second year can be done in apprenticeship and TOEIC.
Our students acquire the necessary computer knowledge and solid foundations (algorithms, programming, project management, etc.) in the field that allow them to be autonomous, continue their studies or integrate into a company."
Acquired skills
"The students trained must be able to participate to the design and the implementation of projects.
Implementation of IT systems corresponding to users' needs. To assume these responsibilities, IT professionals must be technologically competent, familiar with the socio-economic environment in which they will have to practice their profession, have a good general knowledge and be able to communicate."

Study objectives
Technical University Information (IUT) departments train professionals who participate in the design,
production and implementation of IT solutions corresponding to users' needs.
Senior IT technicians carry out their activities in companies and organizations: computer engineering
service companies, telecommunications, banks, insurance companies, retail, industries, public services and
software publishers, etc.
They provide their specialist IT skills (Web, mobile, embedded, management, etc.) to companies or
administrations (industrial production, finance, accounting, human resources, logistics, etc.).
Activities pursued by holders of IT DUT are extremely diverse and correspond to the software life
cycle:
• Starting with the customer request, they assist applications designers in the project analysis phase.
• They design software, validate it, monitor and maintain it.
• They configure and adapt software packages.
• They write technical and software documentation.
• They develop, install, administer and maintain computer systems and networks.
At the end of the course, qualified computer specialists carry out their missions independently. In a large
department or company, this may be under the management of a project leader.
Major thematics of study
"The "computer" disciplinary fields (about 50% of the teaching)
The disciplinary fields of scientific, social and human culture (about 50% of the teaching)"
Study organization
Les enseignements du DUT Informatique sont :
• fondamentaux, pour acquérir des connaissances, des concepts de base et des méthodes de travail ;
• appliqués, pour faciliter l'apprentissage de ces concepts et déployer des savoir-faire professionnels ;
• évolutifs, pour intégrer les progrès technologiques et les exigences du monde professionnel ;

International
An end-of-training partnership is being set up with Canada to complete the last semester. And work placements can be done abroad.
Major thematics of Research
Unlike other universities organized in UFR, at UPEM the attachment of teacher-researchers is only linked to a research laboratory. Thus, the majority of the teacher-researchers who work in the department are attached to the LIGM (Gaspard Monge computer laboratory). As a result, some tutored projects are research projects and some students do their internships in research projects.
Partenariats :
