Entry requirements
The Technical University Bachelor's degree in Transition and Energy Efficiency Professions is a three-year course designed for students with a general high school diploma in maths, physics-chemistry, engineering science, earth and life sciences and science, and technology for industry and sustainable development (all options). It is also open to lifelong learning candidates through the validation of professional and personal skills (VAP 85). Direct admission to third year is possible after two years of higher education. Benefits of the program
At Marne-la-Vallée IUT, the Technical University Bachelor's degree in Transition and Energy Efficiency Professions offers three programmes from second year. The aim is to prepare students to enter working life at the end of the course, but this does not exclude the option of pursuing further studies at an engineering school or through a Master’s, depending on the desires and aptitudes of each individual. Graduates of the Technical University Bachelor's degree in Transition and Energy Efficiency Professions are able to propose efficient and sustainable energy solutions that respect the environment and comply with regulations, while optimising investment and operating costs, in the fields of industry, construction and transport. Typical professions: thermal and fluid engineering consultant, energy manager, energy efficiency project manager, HVAC operations manager, etc. Further study is possible through: a Licence degree - a Master’s in Engineering Sciences, Physical Sciences - an engineering school (INSA, UTT, UTC, ESIPE, ISUPFERE, ENSAM, ESTP, CEFIPA, etc.).
Energy Management for Construction and Industry programme -
Sectors of activity: operators, energy-maintenance departments of companies, hospitals, inspection bodies, project management firms, social landlords, local authorities, etc. Target professions (non-exhaustive list): energy manager - industrial energy manager - energy management consultant - flow economist - energy auditor for buildings, sites, industrial utilities, etc.
Study objectives
The Technical University Bachelor's degree in Transition and Energy Efficiency Professions is a 3-year course designed to train senior technicians in thermal engineering and energy who are able to work as middle managers in the construction and industry sectors. Versatile and equipped with strong technological skills, graduates of the Technical University Bachelor's degree in Transition and Energy Efficiency Professions can work in the production, distribution and use of energy. They are able to design, optimise, build and operate facilities in the fields of climate engineering, energy use in buildings, renewable energy, refrigeration engineering, industrial utilities, heating networks, etc. The thermal engineer is concerned with energy efficiency and reasoned use, renewable energy and energy recovery. They use their technical expertise to help their companies or clients choose more energy-efficient solutions with a low environmental impact. They contribute to the energy transition and respond to the challenges of energy and climate change.
