Entry requirements

Students must hold a high school diploma (preferably from the general track or potentially from the management science and techniques track) or alternatively, have sufficient recognised professional experience (on the basis of application). Admission to L2 or L3 on the basis of application (International Trade Careers programme limited to 60 places). Students must have previously studied the two languages (no beginners).

Benefits of the program

The Licence in Applied Foreign Languages at Université Gustave Eiffel prepares students to enter the professional world, thanks to the two mandatory work placements, and facilitates and encourages them to pursue their studies with a Master’s degree (at UGE or elsewhere).

The international and intercultural aspect of the course (students can choose a third foreign language out of six options, possibility for exchanges and work placements overseas) allows students to find employment quickly and effectively, increasingly often in an international context.

Assistance with the search for a work placement and/or job, through workshops provided by external trainers to help students identify their skills.

Unique aspect of the Business and Trade - International Trade Careers programme: work-study format possible (apprenticeship or professionalisation contract) or long work placement.

Acquired skills

Trilingual specialist language course

The programmes:

“Business and Trade” aims to give students the tools and knowledge needed to understand the world of business and international trade in an intercultural context.

“Tourism Careers” aims to allow students to understand the realities of the sector and introduce them to analytical, strategic and accounting tools used in tourism.

“Specialised Translation” aims to make students proficient in current translation techniques so that they can translate commercial, legal or technical documents used in companies.

“International Trade Careers” aims to provide students with academic and professional proficiency in techniques of international trade, international marketing, general business culture and languages. (See the specific brochure for this programme).

International

Semesters 3, 4, 5 and 6 can be studied on an Erasmus exchange (many partner universities in Spain, Germany and Switzerland) or at one of the universities with which UGE has signed a partnership, such as University of South Florida or University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the United States (MICEFA programme), University of Sherbrooke, UQTR or University of Montreal in Canada (BCI programme), or National Taipei University of Education in Taiwan, Tsinghua University in Beijing or Shanghai Normal University in China. In general, L3 students are encouraged to carry out their end-of-studies work placement overseas.
