L3: French and EU students: submit application via the Université Gustave Eiffel eCandidat application. Students from outside the EU: Campus France according to country of origin.

L3 History is designed as a year of in-depth study of the subject, which therefore continues to build historical knowledge in the 4 periods. This pathway is for all students who want to delve deeper into their historic culture and continue their studies with a Master's degree.

Acquired skills

The History Licence equips students with both general knowledge in the subject area as well as skills which are valued in a large number of industry sectors. Students develop their analytical and critical skills as regards documents and discussions. Emphasis is placed on developing their written and verbal communication skills and on using tools effectively. Graduates of this training programme are proficient in a wide range of expertise: - knowledge on historical issues from Antiquity to the present day, from a political, social, economic or religious point of view; - concrete and rigorous methods in individual work (documentary research and source-based investigations); - an introduction to career plans; - knowledge of historical issues; - expertise in terms of data analysis and summary communication.

Your future career

According to the survey conducted by the OFIPE, 85% of students continue their studies after the Licence. 81% of those who enrolled on a Master's degree course obtained a two-year postgraduate qualification. Although a large number of Licence graduates become primary or secondary school teachers, those who continue with a Master's degree go on to either do history research or pursue a variety of careers in urban planning, international relations, multimedia or journalism.

Professional integration

The university is a founding member of PEPITE 3EF. The purpose of this scheme is to promote entrepreneurship among students and enable those with an entrepreneurial project to reconcile their project and their studies. Université Gustave Eiffel has an entrepreneurship adviser, whose mission is to meet students, support them and offer them the many services we provide: project maturation workshops, entrepreneurial speed dating, D2E (entrepreneurship setup degree), advice from professional partners, etc.
