Entry requirements

The Master’s in Applied Foreign Languages, International Trade programme is open to applicants in initial training (holders of a Licence degree), vocational training (employed adults over 26, who finished their initial training over two years ago), and those who have received Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE). Application assessed by the pedagogical team and language test (written or oral) for certain candidates from degrees where the second language (German, Spanish, Chinese) is optional. Interview with selected candidates (with a written test for the English/Chinese option).

Benefits of the program

Linguistic skills: 70% of classes are taught in a foreign language. The course provides in-depth knowledge of foreign cultures and countries in relation with international trade, as well as a good trilingual command of intercultural negotiation techniques.

Mandatory work placements:

M1 - work placement of minimum eight weeks at the end of Semester 2.

M2 - work placement of six months during Semester 2.

Work-study format possible in M1 and M2.

Acquired skills

- Communicate at a high level and negotiate in professional situations in two foreign languages.

- Draft commercial documentation in a foreign language.

- Develop general knowledge relating to foreign countries: civilisation, commercial integration, geostrategy, geopolitics.

- Master management tools: financial, legal.

- Undertake foreign market research.

- Prospect for clients or suppliers overseas, attend international trade fairs.

- Manage the supply chain and distribution overseas.

- Manage international trade relations and the chain of documentation, from the quote request to the final payment (sales administration).

- Coordinate relations with auxiliaries of international trade operators (forwarding agents, transporters, customs agents, insurers, banks, public or professional support bodies, public authorities).
